You will be amazed to see how Japanese pampas grass show kaleidoscopic beauty in Japan! Japanese pampas grass is one of the best subjects of photography to me. I have visited various places for taking photos through this year. I found out that quite a few people go out for Sakura blossoms and autumn colors, but less for Japanese pampas grass. The color of the grass is usually beige or off-white so they do not stand out. But I believe that they can be one of the symbols of Japan's beauty because they are pure and simple enough to go along with anything.

In the midst of autumn when the downs are yet to get fluffy, you might see the heavy ears making their whole bodies draw beautiful curving lines. It must be quite difficult to choose the best period for each place, but it is worth trying.

5. Japanese Pampas Grass and Mt. Fuji

This is very much Japanese! I feel that Japanese pampas grass alone can be very Japanese so when it get together with Mt. Fuji, the atmosphere becomes perfect. As I couldn't take photos of the scene this year, I selected this photo from my album in 2009. Mt. Takao is a nice mountain where you can walk easily and can see Mt. Fuji well.

6. Fluffy Downs in the Sunrise Time

As the days go by, downs of Japanese pampas grass get fluffy and come to receive more light from the surroundings. You can find this scene the most beautifully in the sunset and sunrise time. The orange sunlight gives the breath of life to every piece of downs.

When many groups of Japanese pampas grass grow in the wide surface of a mountain, it brings the pretty refreshing atmosphere to you. Especially when strong wind blows, all the ears of Japanese pampas grass wave together to move your heart.

12. Brown Japanese Pampas Grass

When the season of Japanese pampas grass ends, the whole bodies get brown. If you find such Japanese pampas grass in any waterside, please look closely at them. This brown color and the blue color of water must show a good harmony.

If it gets below zero degrees at night, Japanese pampas grass win this white decoration of frost. They shine in white under the sunlight in the daytime, and they also sparkle wonderfully and magically with your light at night.
